From Rotork to Toshiba, the past 12 years have been quite a journey…

Boson was established by co-founders Richard Anderson and Allan Bosley in 2003. Since then the company has grown in size, scope and ambition and now provides web development services to clients in manufacturing, engineering, tourism, retail, marketing, and the public sector.

Richard Anderson, our Managing Director, has built a team that consists of experienced software engineers, application developers, testers and a group of creative information architects – all fuelled by plenty of caffeine.

Boson Launches

Founded by Allan Bosley and Richard Anderson (The Bos and Son in Boson) we launch the business from a small office in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

2003

First ecommerce system

Boson launched our first ecommerce system for Team Bath. During the same year we started working with Rotork and Burnett Hillman who are still part of our loyal client base today..

First online booking system

Boson created our first online booking system for Ski Basics, another client who we still enjoy an excellent relationship with today. It was also during 2005 that our Head of Development, Shaun Hargreaves, joined the team as a junior developer..

2005

Our first CRM

Works starts on a CRM (of sorts) and secure document library for Rotork’s international sales teams.

2006

Adopting the Zend Framework

We needed to regulate our code into a recognised structure that all our team could follow. The answer, we decided, was the Zend Framework - an early release of the now well established, industry recognised coding platform.

2007

Boson launch our own CMS

Boson launched our own content management system (CMS). It is operating in the offices of our most prestigious clients. Now available in version 3, The Boson CMS is simple and infinitely customisable. Based on Php/MySQL, it is robust, economic and easy to up-grade. It’s not the only option we offer nowadays, but for our clients it 1 option for simple publication of content on various media platforms. The team expands further with Sam Allen and Paul Fisher join the team

2007

New offices in Bradford-on-Avon

Boson takes up residence in our plush new offices based in the beautiful, historic town of Bradford-on-Avon. Pop in and see us sometime the coffee is always fresh! Martin Wheatley joins the team.

2008

Deutsche bank and OTC Deriv

Boson launch a new document management and collaboration tool for OTC Deriv - a consortium of the worlds investment banks based at Deutsche bank in the city.

2009

Scottfraser win award

Our client, scottfraser, won the Sunday Times 'Outstanding Achievement in Web Development Award'. We’re not really about awards, it’s the impact on our client’s business’ that matter - But still, it’s nice to receive them now and again.

2010

Intranet and Timesheets

We created a revolutionary new approach for our client, FTX, to manage staff Timesheets, strengthen internal communications and support Health and Safety. This new intranet transformed the way they worked, taking their business processes into the cloud.

2011

Global staff intranet

Boson launched a bespoke company-wide intranet for Rotork - it’s now the first thing Rotork employees see when they start their computers.

2012

Boson are 10 years old!

TileFlair e-commerce website goes live

We launch the new, mobile responsive website for TileFlair. This was a significant change for the company and the website needed to integrate with Kerridge K8, TileFlair’s inhouse management system.

myChaletBooking goes live

Our new off-the-shelf booking system for chalet companies - myChaletBooking - goes live. In it’s first year, myChaletBooking manages more than more than £5M of bookings.
